Award-winning pianist, Amy B. Hansen–the Lavender Pianist, has always had a great passion for music. At the age of 5, she eagerly began her piano studies with her mother, a talented pianist. Amy’s abilities progressed through the years, and she was fortunate to receive scholarship offers in piano to multiple universities. Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in Music with an emphasis in Piano Performance from Brigham Young University. 

Amy started writing her own original piano music at a young age. Her mother would help her write her pieces onto staff paper. Amy focused on her classical training and continued that pursuit, winning many musical competitions and awards during that period. It was not until after she graduated college that Amy felt inspired to start composing again. She began by writing a few songs, and her passion for composing was rekindled! Eventually her path led her to submit songs to record labels. She signed with Covenant Communications, Inc. and they have published three albums of Amy’s music.

Amy has been asked why she is known as the Lavender Pianist. Like the qualities of Lavender, which are calm, uplifting, and peaceful, Amy’s music typifies those qualities as well, thus uplifting others with her music. She enjoys sharing her musical gifts with others, and is excited to share many of her songs and sheet music here on her website! 

Amy and her husband currently reside in Utah where they are raising their four beautiful daughters.
